Elisabeth Fans

For fans of the musical Elisabeth.

I've finally gotten around to copying this over here so that those not on my LJ friends list can read it if they'd like. :)

Alrighty, we all know writing reviews is not exactly my strong suit, but I'll do my best.

Genre wise, this cd is a mix of pop, Celtic-pop, Chanson and there's a couple of musical songs as well. I'll admit, when I was first thinking about buying this cd, I had to look up what Chanson was, as I'd never heard the term before.

Overall the cd is quite exceptional. Andy has such a lovely voice, and all the songs are really calming and relaxing.

Before I go any further, here's the track listing for the cd:
  • No Frontiers
  • Wonderful Life
  • I Will Carry You
  • Speaking With The Angel
  • Sie
  • Beide Seiten
  • Ich bin Musik (from Mozart!)
  • You Raise Me Up (duet with Pia Douwes)
  • Invisible
  • Katie
  • Zug nach Paris
  • Je Lui Dirai
  • Electricity (from Billy Elliott)
  • Moon River

For those reading this who are familiar with Clay Aiken, the 'I Will Carry
You' and 'Invisible' are the same ones Clay recorded on his debut cd. I absolutely adore Andy's versions of both songs--perhaps more so than the original versions.

The song I was most curious to hear was 'You Raise Me Up'--the duet with Pia. It was the first song I listened to when I got the cd (finally), and it did not disappoint. It's just all kinds of gorgeous! Pia and Andy both sound amazing...especially Pia. It's hands down my favorite song on the cd. My second favorite is 'Moon River', Andy's rendition is soooo beautiful!

Other favorites include: 'Ich bin Musik', 'Beide Seiten', 'Invisible', "I Will Carry You', 'No Frontiers', 'Wonderful Life' and 'Electricity'. There's not a 'bad' song on the cd, though, I love them all.
