At the beginning of last year I posted a bunch of Elisabeth icons I'd made. Now I'm posting more icons I've made since then, posted from oldest to newest. (you can also find them at my icon lj: shangrila-icons.livejournal.com) Enjoy!

To any and all of you handy with a sewing machine, who have any prior experience with making costumes, etc, I beg you for help! This year for Halloween, I'd really like to be one of the raven-people [or die rabekriegeren, as I call them] from EdM... and since a rabekrieger is obviously NOT something they carry at Party City, I'm going to have to make my own costume. But I've no idea how to start or go about it. For any of you who have prior costume-making experience, I'd be eternally grateful if…

Thank you, iTunes for finally releasing Elisabeth. Now I have a CD, not like I didn't already know the music (thank you, YouTube).
It's been years since I heard about this masterpiece, and I still feel like I'm missing something...how do the other American fans on here obtain Elisabeth CDs and DVDs? I've had a hard time maneuvering around soundofmusic, and eBay seems to be of no help. Any advice?
My AIM is StudRice92. I'd love to chat with anyone about Elisabeth.
thanks!

I finally got around to adding my photos of places related to the historical Elisabeth that I saw during my three-month stay in Switzerland last year (there are more than three photos, but because I added them in batches, the community only shows the number in my last batch). I lived in Geneva, where Elisabeth was assassinated, and I often walked along the boulevard where Lucheni had attacked her, saw the memorial plaque commemorating the place and passed by the statue of her located close to it…

Last week had my first live experience of Elisabeth... twice. This review is copied from my LJ and I'm posting it here because the perormances I saw were wonderful and I want the world to know it :D
I had Annemeike and Uwe both times and loved them both. Funnily enough I had been hoping to avoid Annemaike in favor of Pia/Understudy or 2 understudies after it turned out Pia was to leave. I also had been quite disappointed when it was announced that Uwe was going to be in the cast particularly af…

Forgive me, but boredom makes me ask silly, curious questions like this. *laughs*
Any of you fellow Elisabeth fans frequent LJ? :)

Just did another blog post about Elisabeth over on Tip of the Quill. Readership is up over there and I am going to try to alternate blog post about Austrian history in the FJ era and theme in Leroux's Phantom...
Here is the link if anyone want to read: http://jenniferlinforth.blogspot.com/2008/03/das-kann-ich-dir-nicht-geben-elisabeth.html (Hyperlink is being fickle for me right now... just copy and past)

If anyone loves the history of the royals, I was just interviewed on a great blog. Tons of links to all sorts of sites that deal with royality and history. I was amazed ...
I was surprised when the request for this interview came in because it was was for ADELRUNE, my novel set in Austria and the one currently being marketed to publishers.
Susan blogs on many topics of royality and networks with some of the more famous writers of royal historical fiction. We stumbled upon each other a year ago…

I've finally gotten around to copying this over here so that those not on my LJ friends list can read it if they'd like. :)
Alrighty, we all know writing reviews is not exactly my strong suit, but I'll do my best.
Genre
wise, this cd is a mix of pop, Celtic-pop, Chanson and there's a couple
of musical songs as well. I'll admit, when I was first thinking about
buying this cd, I had to look up what
Chanson was, as I'd never hear…

So these have all been posted around the internet at various times, but I thought I might as well post them here, as well. There's 45 icons here that have been made over the past 6 months or so. If you see one you like, feel free to use it for whatever you want. =)
Note: Numbers 16, 25, and 38 are animated. Various productions. Icons are ordered from newest to oldest, basically. =)

Although, I hesitate to call it a review. More like random thoughts
that I hope make some sort of sense in the end.
Anyway,
the cd has three tracks on it: 'Blind', 'Queen of Angels' and
'Anna'. Both Jesper and Henrik share lead vocals on 'Blind', Henrik has
lead vocals on 'Queen of the Angels' and 'Anna' is Jesper's song.
'Blind' is a very catchy song, and Henrik and Jesper's voices blend quite well together. I often find myself walking around singing it quite regularly these d…

Here is my review of Elisabeth in Budapest. Long, as my reviews have a tendency to be.
I saw Elisabeth three times, once on Friday and twice on Sunday. (Yes, I know I’m crazy.) According to the original cast lists, I was supposed to see every actor in the cast at least once. But Operettszínház had a flu wave or something, and there
were several cast changes in the performances I saw. I didn’t see Janza Kata at
all, but

I've already squeed about this in my LiveJournal, but hey, it never hurts to squee in more places. Except that some of you probably get sick of seeing it all over, but oh well.
The cast information for Elisabeth in Hungary in January has come out, and I'm getting what I most wanted! Which means that I'm seeing Szilveszter Szabó as Death twice, once with Kata Janza and once with Nikolett Füredi! And Zoltán Bereczki as Franz-Joseph and Attila Dolhai as Rudolf on both t

I've been posting this in a couple of places already today so I feel I'm repeating myself, but I figured I would post about it now or I might forget. (Also, my brain has fallen asleep and I can't get any work done, so I'm trying to wake it up by doing something.)
I started a fanfic journal, at http://spiegelsaal.livejournal.com . It's for the purpose of posting various fanfics based on my favourite musicals or other things that

I haven't yet added my Geneva pictures here, mostly because I noticed I didn't yet have as good pictures of the Elisabeth statue as I want, and I also still need to go and see her apartments in the Beau-Rivage Hotel. So I figured I will post all of those at the same time. But I felt like procrastinating from work for a bit and contributing a little to this site, so I've added some photos from the Budapest production of Elisabeth; some from the early 2000s production, some from the newest prod

My Austrian historical featuring the Habsburg family (loosely... one has to tread carefully when merging fiction with a still exsisting family) is off to New York!
Work is starting on the next historical centering on the fire of the Ringstrasse Theater in 1881. Book opens several years later, but all primary characters are affected by this disaster.
Just putting a call out for books... if anyone knows books that might feature this disaster. Point them my way. I have already been
